OFFICIAL NOMINATION AND ELECTION NOTICEIBEW LOCAL UNION 108NOMINATIONSThe nominations for officers of IBEW Local 108 will proceed in order of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Business Manager/Financial Secretary and three (3) Executive Board members. Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the General Membership meeting at the date, time, and place indicated below. All officers shall be installed and begin their three-year term at the General Membership meeting of the local union on July 9, 2026.Nomination Notice IBEW Local Union 108Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026Time: 6:00 p.m.Place: IBEW Local Union 10810108 US Highway 92 E.Tampa, FL 33610Additionally, nominations will be held for two (2) additional Delegates and two (2) Alternate Delegates to attend the 41st IBEW International Convention that will be held in San Diego, CA from September 21-25, 2026. As per the Local Union 108 Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 3; The Business Manager and President shall, by virtue of their offices, serve as delegates to the International Convention.Nominations may also be made in writing and must be received at the IBEW Local 108 office located at 10108 US Highway 92 E, Tampa, FL 33610. Candidates must accept nomination at the nomination meeting or, if not in attendance, submit a written acceptance letter to Election Judge Ryan Yarcho at electionjudge@ibew108.org. Nominations and written acceptance letters must be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 14, 2026.As provided in the Local 108 Bylaws, a member must have a minimum of two (2) years of continuous good standing in IBEW Local Union 108. Continuous good standing means, during the two years preceding the nominations, the member was never three months or more behind in paying dues.Per Local Union Bylaws Article III, Section 8(e) – No apprentice shall be eligible to hold office in the Local Union.No member shall be a candidate for more than one (1) office. If nominated for more than one office, the member shall immediately declare for which office he/she will be a candidate.An Election Judge and tellers have been appointed. Neither the Election Judge nor tellers may be a candidate for any office.ELECTIONThis is a Secret Ballot Election with the names of those nominated being listed in alphabetical order on the ballot. The election of Local Union 108 officers will be conducted at the date, time, and place indicated below:Election Notice IBEW Local Union 108Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026Time: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.Place: IBEW Local Union 10810108 US Highway 92 ETampa, FL 33610Any member who was initiated on or before June 4, 2026, and has an active status will be eligible to vote. Members will be asked to present a driver’s license or some other form of photo ID at the polls.The ballots will be counted immediately following the closing of the polls and the results shall be announced immediately after all ballots are counted. A complete listing of the results shall be posted on all union bulletin boards (or other appropriate place) by the closing of business on the day following the election.Absentee ballots shall be available to any member upon written request to the election judge. Such requests will be accepted up to five (5) days prior to the date of the election. Anyone who receives an absentee ballot and arrives at the polls to vote, without first presenting the election judge with their unmarked ballot, will be required to vote a challenged ballot. In order to be counted, absentee ballots must be received at the post office box, which was rented for this election, no later than 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Absentee ballot requests can be requested via email to electionjudge@ibew108.org or via United States Postal Service to:Ryan Yarcho, Election JudgeP.O. Box 15033Tampa, FL 33684Candidates shall be entitled to an observer at the polling place and during the counting of the ballots. Observers may not interfere with the orderly procedure of the election. There shall be no campaigning or electioneering at the polls or within fifty (50) feet from the entrance to the polling place. No postings except for instructions shall be permitted at the polling place.Any member who believes a protest of the election is warranted is urged to contact the Election Judge. Protests filed after the election should be filed in writing with the 5th District International Vice President within 30 days following the election. The decision of the 5th District International Vice President shall conclude the processing of a protest within the IBEW. In the event the protesting member is not satisfied with the decision of the 5th District International Vice President, the member may submit their protest to the U.S. Department of Labor.In the event a runoff election is required, same shall be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the IBEW 108 Union Hall. The same rules shall apply to the runoff election as were applicable to the regular election.
